These are the proprietors of Rayz in Dana, Illinois:

What are you doing here? No one comes to Dana unless they're lost.

These folks were wonderful.  They talked about life in Dana, why they were there, and answered my dumb questions about farming.

Last summer, a biking family from Vermont found themselves in Dana, out of water, starving, and generally exhausted.  Rayz wasn't officially open but these folks fixed food for the  Vermonters and got them back on the road restored.

They served me the grandest breakfast I have had on the trip, and then wouldn't let me pay.

Ending up in Dana was more happenstance than plan, but next time I'm in the area, I will make an effort to return.
