The young fellow from Sweden said that he prefers to stay in B&Bs rather than hotels because hotels make him feel lonely.

This is my first encounter with other cyclists on the Transamerica Trail (not counting the fellow I passed in my first hour on the first day).  Reminds me of stories of the hobos -- we pass along information on where we ate and stayed to those headed the opposite direction.

For example:

There's no water in the park but there's an open spigot at the corner with the insurance agency on it.  There is an outdoor plug in front of the post office.  No restrooms but there's a subway across the street that opens at 7AM.
