Injeongjeon Hall, the throne room in  Changdeokgung palace.  It is beautiful, but one of the most interesting things to me is that, according to our guide, the king had the place wired for electric lights.

Changdeokgung was built in the the 1400s and was the site of the royal court and the seat of government until 1868 -- with interruptions when it was burned down by the Japanese and challengers to the throne.  The last time it was rebuilt was in 1804.  Korea's last Emperor, Sunjong lived here until his death in 1926.

The screen behind the throne has a sun and moon on it, symbolizing the king and queen, as well as a depiction of the five mountains of Korea.
