Boyana Church is among the most beautiful and moving things I have seen. I doubt that pictures would capture the beauty of the frescos, but in any case no photos are allowed. (Here are some photos of the frescoes.) Only a few visitors are permitted to enter at one time, and they are only allowed to stay ten minutes.
The church is tiny. The walls are filled with frescos. The most interesting and moving are from around 1259.
