I had read that the area we planned to stay in was full of Syrian refugees. I didn't grasp what that meant. There are alot of people just waitng -- sitting on the street or in cafes (long after finishing their tea.) They are not poorly dressed. They have relatively new school-style backpacks or gym bags, packed full. Many also have garbage bags full of things -- often life jackets.
