An ancient olive tree. We stopped here for awhile because we couldn't find the next waymark. Within twenty minutes, three more hikers joined us in wandering around looking for the trail -- the Turkish hiker I misdirected two days before and a heavily laden German couple, Johanna and Johannes. I eventually found a faded, nearly invisible, waymark and then the next one.
