The Hughes Invitational Disk Golf and Wading Tournament is the most challenging disk golf match in the world.

The course is impossible: raging creeks wend their way between precipitous cliffs which carve the mountainous, heavily forested terrain.

Nowhere else is the weather so unpredictable. Monsoon rains follow blistering heat -- heat so intense no experienced player leaves the parking lot without a rugged beer cozy. Sudden winds throw players to the ground, carry golf disks miles, and rattle the roof of the sole port-a-let. Drinking fountains are few and far between.

This is the battleground I have chosen -- fierce, brutal, and unforgiving.
